North York Abandons Regional Proposal
Citing a lack of interest and information, North York borough unanimously voted Monday to withdraw from all talks concerning the Greater York Regional Authority. Here’s a blurb from the York Daily Record/Sunday News’ Angie Mason. York City councilman Michael Helfrich was also kind enough to take time to attend the meeting to listen to residents’ and officials’ concerns.
Residents at the meeting gave impassioned feedback ranging on topics from loss of local control to fears of a city bailout and raised taxes. North York borough council president Vivian Amspacher said she was concerned with how the proposal was brought to North York.
