Rebuttal to Kim Bracey's calls for regionalization

| Comments

Regionalization. As defined on Wikipedia it is the process of dividing a political entity or country into smaller jurisdictions (administrative divisions or sub-national units) and transferring power from the central government to the regions; the opposite of unitarisation. This is what Eventually Mayor Bracey C. K. Bracey.....York's Friends and Family Plan.......Yes. But, hates black people?
and her “associates” will be calling her big plan when they finally think they have a ripe opportunity to sell it. As I have mentioned in an earlier rebuttal to York Councilman Henry Nixon Council approved a study in the spring of this year to evaluate “regionalization” of all county police functions under the York City Police. Plans have been in the works. You have not been privy to them. You don’t need to know what others have already deemed best for you. As York City administrator O’Rourke has stated “ never tell anyone outside the family what you are thinking “. Michael O’Rourke is only one of “the family” that refuses to even answer the public when directly questioned much less be forthcoming about their plans for your future.

Many of you are aware of Kim Bracey’s (via the administration, Henry Nixon, and Toni Smith) push for “regionalizing” York City’s Fire coverage with North York and eventually other areas. We also know that at one point flat out lies have been fabricated and spread that response time for trucks and personnel from a temporary staging point in North York was somehow faster in covering the area surrounding the fire station on the 800 block of Roosevelt. Faster from North York than the station located on the 800 block of Roosevelt. This is how stupid they take us for. This is how stupid you would have to be to accept their “regionalization” as good for us; good for local residence.

Unitarisation. As also defined in Wikipedia “in politics, unitarisation is a process of uniting a political entity which consists of smaller regions, either by cancelling the regions completely or by transferring their power to the central government”. This is the accurate label for Mayor Bracey and her “associates” plans. Uniting sounds fine. We are the United States of America Inc….right? How about cancelling regions completely? Wrightsville, Spring Grove, Yoe, Craley, York; how does cancelling these sound? Wouldn’t you rather have a county government looking out for your best interest? I am sure regional zoning telling you what you can and cannot do with your own land is best. Do you want Mayor Bracey deciding who the region prioritizes snow removal for. I’m sure downtown York will shine. Sorry Yoe…..we understand you as a separate entity have always prioritized legendary snow removal but your taxes are best spent making sure the side walks outside 101 S George are spotless so Mayor Bracey and her security entourage don’t slip leaving the palace . It is the heart of the county….. We’re sure you understand.

How about “transferring their power to the central government”. This sounds like we may be getting to the heart of the matter. Doesn’t it always come down to money and power? I believe Mayor Bracey mentions in here written statement “In 2011, it is absurd that the commonwealth has more than 2,562 municipalities with taxing authority”. She presents it in such a way that almost convinces you 2,562 entities are all taxing YOU. Of course that is not the case. Focus, however, on the words “taxing authority”. It would seem that Mayor Bracey’s real issue is that she and her administration do not have the authority to tax more people. Apparently, even with her upcoming new palace and 20% more taxes on the backs of the people in York, Mayor Bracey still feels she needs more power. She’ll even try to convince you that she needs to tax others outside the city because she can’t tax churches, orphanages, fire departments, homeless shelters, schools, parks, and more. Yet our very own(and own our elected officials we the people do) Mayor Bracey will repetitively mention “core community” while calling real cores of any community a burden. She cares not about communities or people. She only wants to structure control of us. She wants power.

Mayor Bracey wrote “As one of 29 members of the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities, Core Communities in Crisis Taskforce, such work could easily be called Core Communities Agenda For The 21st Century or something similar”. May I suggest “Core Communities for UN Agenda 21”. For those of you not familiar with UN Agenda 21 I suggest a little light reading here. The reason Mayor Bracey was incapable of putting the word “community” to print without a preceding attachment of “core” is she is desperately attempting to condition the reader to the catch phrase “core community”. She will continuously emphasis the phrase in ways that make it sound like a good thing.

The truth is far more sinister. “Core communities” is a catch phrase for social and economic engineering. “Core communities” destroys established communities. “Core communities” break down existing community heritage, history, and all sense of community identity. She starts out her written agenda with a positive emphasis on “historic greatness and architectural grandeur”. Makes you feel good…right? She ends her agenda with “Pennsylvania is to recapture its historic greatness and win the future”. Ends on a bright note. Gotta be good…right?

In between however you will find “Our governmental structure as a whole is outdated and fragmented”, “Dusty, horse-and-buggy-era state legislation”, “outdated urban and borough boundaries hamstring local control and innovation”, and “trapped in horse-and-buggy eras of government”. She really can’t say enough bad things about the way we have always done things locally(or in America for that matter). Sounds like someone that maybe has a problem with local government, self determination, established local community, grass roots approach; hell, sounds like she has a problem with free markets and the Republic itself. I’m sure she will tell you how much she loves apple pie and baseball though. That’s all that matters…right?

Let’s drop a statistic here. 15. 15 is the number of times Mayor Bracey word drops “core community”. 5. 5 is the number of additional times Mayor Bracey abbreviates and simply writes “core”. 1. 1 is the number of times Mayor Bracey mixes it up and writes “metropolitan communities”. 0. 0 is the number of times Mayor Bracey takes personal responsibility for the mismanagement of York. 0. 0 is the number of times Mayor Bracey credits Mayor Bracey, Mayor Bracey’s administration, the York City Council, or any of their predecessors for the hardships we the residents of York must now face. Yet they are indeed our problems to face as we have elected every one of the officials that have failed us. We the residents of York have failed ourselves by not paying attention and taking responsibility for overseeing our elected official. Take a good long look in the mirror. Then proceed to take many long frequent looks at your elected officials.

Think I am exaggerating? Think I am over reacting to Mayor Bracey’s beating of the words “core community”? Let’s step outside of York for a moment and look in on a “model core community”. Take a look here. First take notice of the URL. It’s not the name of the “town”. Now take notice of the “town” name. Take in the town sales pitch “America’s unique master planned community”. Tradition? Unique? Seems like they are going out of the way to sell you on having what in fact has been destroyed. They are quite disturbingly forward about the master-planned part however.

“The Town of Tradition in Port St. Lucie, Florida is a new master-planned, mixed-use community located in the heart of one of America’s fastest growing regions” is telling. It supports what the recommended article on UN Agenda 21 states about destroying rural communities and farm land as well ass gerrymandering voting block demographic to seed “left” leaning wards of the state amongst “right” leaning established communities. It is quite easy to be fast growing when you are engineering artificial population densities over top farm land.

Ignoring the obvious mention of New Urbanism and the fact that in Tradition they mimic heritage and culture by artificially delegating everything Italian to a government sanctioned festival; we will move on to the “news” section to the right of the page. First up “Treasure Coast could become a biotech hub”. The again mentioned recommended article points out for us that UN Agenda 21 is to be closely tied with a push on environmentalism and this seem no coincidence. Next; “Grant of $360,000 goes to Torrey Pines in Port St. Lucie for lung cancer fight” supports again the for mentioned article in its statement that grants will be increasingly funneled to those that participate with UN agenda 21 demands. How many of you even knew about or asked why the York police had a few token community outreach meetings last year….grants. Why do we have that useless bike lane……grants. The big picture is always broken up so many little pieces can be hidden and we never see the coordination of it all.

Back to the sales page for the master-planned community of Tradition and it’s news(additional sales points) section. We have lastly “Atlantic|Pacific to build in Tradition” If you click the link it talks very fondly of the company Atlantic/Pacific building highrise apartments in Tradition. This is yet another aspect of UN Agenda 21. To call this aspect “projects” is applicable. UN Agenda 21(Mayor Bracey and her administration) all want to see every effort made to condense population as tightly as possible. This combined with giving you everything close and removing need for automobile ownership makes for a much more controllable population. Have you had the haunting feeling that so much of whats been happening in York the last few years isn’t meant for you? Does it seem like for the residence of York everything gets worse despite all the changes to law, zoning, ordinance, structure, landscape?

Don’t forget the taxes. I promise you what Mayor Bracey is leading up to is Land Value Taxation(LVT). This is commonly implemented in America as smart growth. It is in fact one of the biggest issues why Harrisburg and Reading are in the pot that they are. It also has been fought off successfully in Carroll County, Maryland. Richard Rothschild, at the time of the articles publication a candidate for Commissioner(now elected), emphatically remarked, “Smart growth is not science; it is political dogma combined with an insidious dose of social engineering. Smart growth is a wedding wherein zoning code is married with government-sponsored housing initiatives to accomplish government’s goal of social re-engineering. It urbanizes rural towns with high-density development, and gerrymanders population centers through the use of housing initiatives that enable people with weak patterns of personal financial responsibility to acquire homes in higher-income areas. This has the effect of shifting the voting patterns of rural municipalities from Right to Left.” Trust you me. In some way, shape, or form you will be hearing about the socialist concept of LVT as again called for by UN Agenda 21 from Mayor Kim Bracey and/or her cronies. Unitarisation.

Get involved. Watch you elected officials. Go to council meetings. Talk with you neighbors. Read. Research. Don’t take my word or anyone else at face value. You are responsible for you and we the residence of York are responsible for our communities. It’s not to late but it may very well soon be. Get involved.
